FILA had recently commissioned a website redesign that most of their licensees already started to implement. However, the brand felt they needed a little something more to help bring their homepage to life.

This was a great opportunity to play around with the layout and design a slightly unconventional grid. I also thought some kind of subtle movement with imagery could help liven up the page. I presented FILA with a design that uses a full-bleed hero carousel image extending down the page and fading out behind the product images. As the large hero images cycle through, they also act as a dynamic background for the page.

Product images are also given more importance – whereas before they had been surrounded and boxed in by large blocks of colors with text.
